LOS ANGELES — A collision involving a Hyundai Veloster and a Nissan Quest blocked the middle lanes of westbound Interstate 10 near the southbound Interstate 5 connector on Sunday, January 5th, according to a California Highway Patrol.
The crash was first reported at about 9 p.m., with both vehicles stopping in the middle lanes. An ambulance was requested and officers held all lanes.
The vehicles were later moved to the right shoulder, and a tow service arrived to remove the damaged cars. Additional CHP units conducted a traffic break from Eastern Avenue to help ease congestion.
No information on injuries or the cause of the crash was immediately available. Anyone with details about the incident is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol.
Key Factors in Determining Liability in Two-Car Collisions on Freeways
Traffic Conditions: The incident occurred on a heavily trafficked freeway near a major connector, increasing the likelihood of sudden lane changes or congested conditions contributing to the crash.
Driver Actions: Determining whether negligence, such as speeding, road rage, following too closely, or distracted driving, played a role will be essential.
Additionally, shared liability may be at play.
Steps to Take After a Collision
- Document the Scene: Photos of vehicle damage, road conditions, and the surrounding area can be vital evidence.
- Seek Medical Attention: Even minor injuries should be evaluated promptly.
- Contact an Attorney: Legal representation ensures that liability is accurately determined and that your rights are protected in insurance negotiations or litigation.
